Check the delivery and inform customer service of any missing item, incorrect product or damage you notice. It is helpful to give the order number, product details and a description of the problem and to attach any photographs. Transport damage should also be reported to the carrier as soon as possible. However, a consumer’s right to seek a remedy from the seller does not depend on first making a complaint to the carrier.
Systemtech is liable to consumers for product defects under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act. The consumer must notify the seller within a reasonable time after discovering the defect. Notice may always be given within two months of discovering it.
Under the law, defects are primarily remedied by repair or replacement, according to the consumer’s choice. The seller may refuse the requested remedy on grounds provided by law. The remedy is provided within a reasonable time, free of charge and without significant inconvenience to the customer. Price reduction, termination of the contract and compensation are subject to the conditions laid down by law.
Necessary costs of investigating and remedying a defect for which the seller is responsible, including return transport, are borne by the seller. Customer service provides instructions for sending the product for inspection or servicing.
The provider, duration, scope and other terms of any guarantee granted by the manufacturer or seller are stated for the relevant product and in the guarantee statement. A guarantee is an additional benefit. Statutory liability for defects does not end when a guarantee expires and does not require the product to have a guarantee.
The seller is not liable for a fault to the extent that it results from the customer’s misuse, damage occurring after receipt or incorrect installation by the customer. This does not apply where the cause is, for example, a product defect, installation for which the seller is responsible or inadequate operating or installation instructions. Electrical devices must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable qualification requirements.
